Description:

This course introduces your employees to the dangers associated with confined spaces. It includes an overview of the OSHA regulations about the site-specific permit/non-permit process and procedures necessary to perform safe entry.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Have a working knowledge of federal OSHA regulations about permit-required confined spaces.
  • Recognize hazards associated with confined spaces, proper atmospheric monitoring, lock-out/tag-out, and blanking procedures.
  • Understand the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Identify the procedures of the permit process.
  • Identify emergency procedures for confined spaces.
  • Identify rescue equipment used for nonentry (external) rescue of persons from confined spaces.

 

Course Information:

Confined Space Awareness/Initial Training: 8 hours

This course is designed to teach individuals at the beginning of their employment or during their change of duties, the dangers and hazards of confined spaces both permitted and non-permitted. This course will cover the current OSHA standard and how it applies to your industry and fields of work.

This course is required by OSHA.

Confined Space Refresher Training: 8 hours
This course is required by OSHA to be completed every year for individuals who are working in and around confined spaces. This course will cover the current OSHA Standard and how it applies to your Industry and fields of work.

Confined Space Entry with Rescue Basic: 16-24 hours

This course expands on the current OSHA standards. This course is designed for Industries that may have the coverage needed for rescue response but still want to train their employees on rescues dealing with confined spaces. The course with cover the uses of all rescue equipment the industry may have access too, and how it applies to rescue. This course will show students how to have a successful out comes when dealing with Confined Spaces. This course will count as the yearly refresher training required by OSHA.

Standby/Onsite Rescue

It is not always practical to train in-house staff as rescue personnel. Knowing the need for having professionally trained emergency responders on site, FRC can provide a team of individuals for on-site emergency response. Our Standby Rescue Teams will deliver a cost-saving alternative to maintaining equipment and personnel for an onsite team. Our rescue teams provide emergency retrieval systems and supply air units, personal protective equipment, and medical kits for potential rescue in an IDLH atmosphere.

There are two states of readiness for our on-site rescuers:

Active Standby: The rescuers are partially suited up at or near the workspace and ready to begin a rescue operation immediately.

Standby: Rescuers are on-site and their equipment is accessible, but they are engaged in training workers, performing hazards assessments, developing pre-plans, or some other safety-related task.

Our rescuers are fully trained in

  • Confined Space Operations-Entrant/Attendant/Entry Supervisor
  • Confined Space Rescue
  • Trench Rescue
  • Hazmat Operations Level (Response)
  • Fall Protection
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Personal Protective Equipment Maintenance and Inspection
